I need to go around the top of my unit and re-seal where the roof meets the sides. Since this area is somewhat rounded, do I use the dicor self-leveling, or the non-sag type?

I understand the top of my roof would need the self leveling, but not sure on where the roof meets the sides.

Also, in a video the tech recommended a different type of sealant for the bathroom sky-light?

CW wanted to close to $700 to do this to my rig - I think I will plan a Saturday with some beer and dicor.

thanks in advance.

I’d think if you do it in a nice day with modest temps the self leveling would set up with in reason, of course if the sun is beating down it just means you’ll have to drink a little faster:)

maybe the pics will help someone lol

It really doesn't make much difference, I would use the non sag on the edge, but you can use it on the roof also, just need to smooth it out when applying. Self leveling just does that for you. Basically the same caulk. On vertical surfaces I use QSI Quad Sealant, which was recommended by Jayco

I am going to apply some new Dicor to my roof vents today and put Enterna Tape around the roof edges. Should you scrap off the old then apply the new or is it ok to just put the new over the old? The old is not cracked or chipped just want to redo it. Just talking about the vent area.
Thanks, Mike

It's okay to go over the old caulk, just use some soap and water to clean it to assure good adhesion.

As long as you have the Eternabond for the sides, why not use it on the vent, too? When I bought my trailer, new, I used Eternabond everywhere on the roof, except for where the round tubes of the rear ladder attach.

It can go right over the old Dicor, but a plastic putty knife makes short work of removing it to achieve a flatter surface. Soap and water scrub followed by an acetone cleaning, and you're good to go.
