Roof tear

New to Jayco and extremely disappointed. Bought my Jayco Flight Baja trailer July 31, 2024. First night out, refrigerator did not work. Turned out to be an electrical issue (connectors on wires behind panel were too small to prevent a consistent circuit). Took Camping World Tucson two service calls to fix the problem. (They fixed the refrigerator but nothing else worked). I live 40 miles from the dealer so multiple trips is a major inconvenience. In addition, the cabinetry under the refrigerator was poorly manufactured leading to the drawer to break. This was also covered, fortunately, under warranty.
Took the trailer out again for New Year's Eve and, this time the water pump blew out my panel (faulty part on the pump) so we had no running water inside the trailer. Luckily, I had purchased a handful of fuses, so we still had lights. In addition, the heater caused the smoke detector to go off because (we find out later) the "coating" wasn't "burned-off" which caused a toxic odor. Needless to say it was a chilly night at 7500 ft (temperature bottomed out at 40 degrees inside the camper). I would have been warmer and more comfortable in my tent. To my surprise, Camping World was open on New Year's Day and I was able to speak with a service tech to schedule an appointment (30 days later) for my problems to be diagnosed and repaired. Less than a week later, we had a major wind event that tore the back of my roof away from the molding. Since the camper was outside but under a carport, I did not experience any water damage but the material continued to flap up and down as I waited for my appointment. Took the camper to Camping World for my scheduled appointment and discovered that not only was the exterior portion of the roof damaged, the interior ceiling partially collapsed in the bathroom. After a week at Camping World, I had to call to find out what the diagnosis was for all of my issues. The service manager indicated that since there were scratches across the molding that I must have run into something (they called it a collision) or I had it parked by a tree that constantly rubbed the roof (no trees on my property) which tore material.
I am totally blown away by my experience thus far. While everyone is being polite and sympathetic to situation (Camping World and Jayco customer service), the roof has become an insurance issue (since I am being quoted a figure between $8,000 and $10,000 for the exterior and interior repairs). My question to Jayco owners is twofold. First, has anyone had a problem with a roof being tore away from the molding and, second, any recommendation on who I could speak with up the chain at Jayco?

All dealers are independent #1 and JAYCO's warranty authorizations are based on the info that they receive from the dealer. Unfortunately as you already experienced CW did not do a good PDI as noted with the furnace. Sounds like the roof issue may have occurred on their watch as well. Just my opinion.

I took my trailer into Camping world to have my brakes fixed (they barely worked), and to check a clunck in my hitch. Within 20 min they emailed me pictures of "damage" to my roof (new to me) that had only one choice to replace the whole roof (I never told them to look at the roof). I said no thanks, just fix the brakes. The brakes SHOWED NO DIFFERENCE, and still the klunk. The service manger fed me the crap of needing to hit the brakes a lot to auto-adjust ... the 2014 x23b have 7" brakes which do not have auto-adjust. When I pressed him about the hitch, he finally got the tech out who acted like this was the first he had seen of my trailer, and quickly found a loose ball.

DO NOT TRUST CAMPING WORLD TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB... at least the one in Monticello Minnesota is my experience.

I don’t use camping world, but when I had to take my RV in for the awning that the dealer was saying was my fault and hail damage they were able to give me a number to Jayco. I called Jayco and at first they agreed with the dealer and I told them I would be bringing my RV to them for them to personally look at since I was gonna be traveling your Elkhart And the lady was very nice that she would speak to her manager. Her manager called me back. I spoke to the manager at Jayco and they authorize the replacement of my awning after I sent them pictures of my own. I am very happy with the Jayco response and I’ve heard lots of people say camping world is not very good.

It is hit or miss with Camping World. They MAY agree to fix something, but they will have it parked on the "back forty" for a long time to wear you down until you give up.
