route from Lake George NY to Kingston, Ontario

We came through Watertown, Syracuse and across 90
When looking at on Google maps, imap and Mapquest, we are given different routes.
One going 87 to 15 onto 30 and so on.
One going to Syracuse, same way we came down
and one going right through the Adirondacks, crossing at Ogdensburg or Cornwall
This last route shows the trip to be much shorter but I am not sure what driving through the Adirondacks would be like. Hilly? scary? boring?

I can't comment on the portion of 30N from I-87 to Route 3 into Tupper Lake. I have never driven this.

However, the portion on 3 West out of Tupper Lake, to Route 56 North to Route 68 (North I think) into Ogdensburg.... i have driven that portion before. It is not a bad ride. About 2 hours towing our 8,000 lb trailer. I would do it again. There are some hills, you are mostly driving through the Adirondack forest. There is one section that is a one lane road around an S-curve that you have to wait for a traffic signal to let you go. It goes across a major creek.

Make sure to gas up when you get to Tupper Lake as there is not much in between there and Ogdensburg that is convinient for a truck and trailer.

You can also take 87 to Canada, or pick up Rt 11, or in the Adirondacks go via rt 30 from Tupper to Malone, then 37 to Massena (Cornwall). We camp off Rt 30, and live near Massena. If you get to Tupper, I think the rt 30 way would be best. Just did it last week.
