I have a 1993 265 eagle. My tail lights and marker lights are not working. I cant find a junction box and all wiring I can see is in good condition. Any help is appreciated.
I would check the fuses on the tow vehicle first... Trailer wiring has separate fuses and circuits from tow vehicle. Quick and dirty check the plug on tow vehicle
Pull the rear light assemblies Without anything connected and bulbs all removed use ohm meter and check for the bulb wires to ground. Should be open on both
Could be pinched wire at the rears
Gotta start somewhere
Meter the bulbs should have some continuity thru them
Is this a travel trailer or 5th wheel?
5th will have either a junction or wires just connected and wrapped up in king pin... Travel trailer should have a box on frame right behind propane tanks and battery usually. If you find the wires you can check the umbilical card for continuity for the running light. Do a Google search for the pin out. Remember the key and looking at front or rear.
So tried a known good bulb?
What about side marker lights and top of the front bubble?
If running are all dead look for the junction box in king pin. Could have corrosion on the connection from umbilical. If you make a wire up you can jumper trailer battery charge line to running lights. Then check at junction box for 12 volts to grnd. Pin 3 to pin 4 each side of the key
Wrong end trailer end.
You have seen the trailers at cpgrd with running lights lite up and no tow vehicle connected
That's what they do on trailer end not with tow vehicle connected
Couple spade connectors and short piece of wire with a 15 amp fuse just in case of dead short.
You can test turn/ brake lights as well. Just different pins
pin 5 is left turn and stop... Pin 6 is right turn and stop. jumper from 12 volt on pin 4.
If it's not a problem in junction with embilical to trailer wiring could be the embilical plug is getting sloppy in the plug on trailer side
Ok
So looked in king pin for the junction box or the bundle connection.
Is your 7 pin a molded or can you pull it apart? Some just have a set screw in the key on plug
I got it all sorted. Was a dead short somewhere between the plug and first clearance light in the string. I ran a new wire and everything works great. Thank you very much for your assistance, I appreciate it.
