There are a few things about my RV design and workmanship wise that are quite annoying :)
What is it with the edging on countertops and cabinets always being short, see pics. I had the same issues in my other RV where the edging was cut short and you can see raw wood on every counter and gable...it's like they precut all the pieces short and has to use them :)
Applying silicon neatly is not difficult so why is it usually a smeared mess. I've spent lots of time looking at and cleaning off ugly silicone from around our sinks...it just looks bad. Please use the smallest bead and practice somewhere else first :)
Why no toe kicks on RV cabinets? It would be great/convenient for running things like heating/water pipes and electricals under a raised floor that's set back...no more kicking the cabinets and it looks good too :)
Maybe the fancy RV's have some but how about baseboard and casing instead of 1" molding for base and no casing? It would look a lot better even if it's plastic...easy enough to DIY I guess but that's also annoying :)
It's too bad/annoying when some glampers stopover here, ask for and receive help then you never hear from them again :) It's nice to know how the advice went sometimes...many do appreciate the help of course or at least you taking the time :)
Feel free to comment and leave your pet peeves :)

It's common knowlegde that when you work fast you make mistakes; and when you work slower and more deliberate, you don't. I think the RV builders know that. What happens is the desire for profit exceeds the desire for quality. ... just my 6 cents (inflation) worth.

I know what you mean about no follow-up from posters. It would be nice to know when you helped someone. Also, while following a thread where more than one solution was offered, it would be nice to know what worked. Take it with a grain; it's been that way since forums started.

Since you state that you have a 2017, I too owned a 2016 and a 2017 with similar issues of the void at the ends of the face mouldings. I will say that part of that is is generated by natural shrinking of plastic stuff in general. When new the face mouldings fit correctly. Now my pet peeve today is ? well we have too many commitments this month to spend time around campfires on the outside and under the stars.

I agree @2...I make mistakes and also hurt myself when I work fast :)
And yes unfortunately it is all about time and money minus quality control. Kind of like some of the stopovers here :)

I'm envying your pet peeve @3 :)
The old shrinkage excuse eh :)
Shouldn't plastic expand? :)

Another thing I find annoying is the pace of play around here :)
Mind you I guess it's considered the glamping off season for most of us.

Shrinkage and expansion is related to natural occurring temperatures, some ambient but in some cases deliberate. :D Does that clarify my reply? :<}

Yes, the cold weather up here during winter causes shrinkage and the summer heat causes expansion sometimes deliberate :) The edging takes a beating with the temperature swings more so in the summer :)
Getting a little off topic and trying to keep the thread alive I guess :)

Well let me help keep things up here and going. :p We are doing our best to keep our TT equipment in full working order by using it about every other weekend, at least. Prepping now to head out early am to do some off the grid boondocking,,,

But to brag about it or show pictures of short sleeve shirts and wide open camper doors as we sit beside a slow moving river may sound braggadochus to say the least. And yes this post may fit into the meaning of pet peeves, topics going off the rails from the original subject. :);)

Does anybody have any real pet peeves? :)
This thread is not about pet pleasures :)
How about we include pet peeves while towing like the guy who slows down before hills! :) Actually why not include anything annoying while glamping like the fighting neighbors or having to back into a pull-thru site :)

I have a few small pet peeves.

  • lights, why do people think (root issue) everyone wants to be blinded at night by your lights. This can also be flashlights.

  • impact drivers to "level your RV", they just impact away to level the rv, they are stabilizers not levelers.

  • music/tv, people must be deaf as I hear so many radios and tvs. This can be from cars, walkers, bike riders, campsite sitters

A hearty X2 on all three of those. A fourth: Campers who chain their dog outside the RV but stay inside, letting it bark at everyone who walks by. Sheesh.

Dog owners when walking their dogs, let their dogs piss and crap anywhere in all the grass areas. Not ever taking into consideration about kids may want to play and/or got bare footed in the grass. If I had kids with me in a campground I wouldn’t let them play and romp in the grass anymore. Particularly when the campground has a specified area to walk dogs. I’m sure not allowed to take a leak anywhere where I want.

Yes I've witnessed all those "pet" peeves including family members (dogs) that are too good for the doggy beach :)
How about the trucker who's going 1/4 mile an hour faster than the truck in front but just has to pass taking 12 minutes and causing a back up then thanks you by flashing his brake lights :)

I clicked off my cruise control as I catch up to you. Then you race me up to 85 miles an hour to prevent me from passing. What is going through your mind?

"Fur Babies"! I get so sick of hearing yapping dogs when we go camping. People will lock them in the camper next door to you and leave the park on an all day excursion with FiFi yappin away all day! When you go to ride a bike around the park people standing in the middle of the road talking to another set of Fur Baby parents with 5 dogs on a lease taking up the whole road. Sheesh! I'll probably catch some flack from this but oh well!

This ^ is my #1. Electric Impact guns are marginally annoying in the middle of the afternoon. But, I think that they are downright rude when an individual arrives late at night to set up or exits the site before dawn. If it is quiet time in the park, I don't want to hear someone running their stab jacks with one of those torture devices.

People who pass you then slow down, forcing you to pass them. A few minutes later they pass you again and slow down again, forcing you to pass them again. And on and on and on....
