RV and the forum Pet Peeves :)

People that walk through your campsite.

On a recent trip down in Southeast Texas, a family of four felt it was ok to park their pontoon boat at the back of our campsite, then walk through our site along the backside of our camper to the park road, then down to their site 3 spots down. Our site was much closer to the water than theirs.

When I confronted them and told them this was not acceptable, the guy says "I don't see a problem with it" and the wife says "you must be from the city". When I responded, "so if I decide to park my truck on the backside of your camp site site, you guys would be ok with that", he said sure, I don't have a problem with that. Great example they are making for their young teen daughters.

By the way...The park ranger politely informed them that I was right.

We all have certain things that irritates us and can create another million comment topic. I just hate not being able to be sleeping in another place and under the stars at least every other week. If we would have started earlier on this somewhat full parttime adventure.

And I personally do not care and think about people navigating close or thru our "safe space" campsite. They only do it once. The second time around I lay in wait with only my skivvies on. :D:D

Of course with being primarily a remote camper, rigged for boondocking, its rare that we stay at any campground close enough that other campers will find a reason to take shortcuts to anywhere. I guess you can say I am not part of the majority in this rv habit.

The newest pet peeve of my is the annual one called winter! :)
More of an envy I guess but glamping all year long would be great :(
Just not possible up here but we do love glamping up to Thanksgiving :)

My new pet peeve is people who reserve prime sites and times so they can have a picnic for the afternoon. We're seeing this more and more often in popular lakeside and oceanfront sites. Sometimes two or three sites in a row are taken and we see SUVs with pull in with no RVs or tents. They have a fire for the afternoon, maybe cook a big dinner, then leave in the evening. Great for them.

Meanwhile, families can't get a spot because the park is 100% reserved.

Yes that is annoying @24 and they're usually loud too! But it's somehow okay because they paid I guess.
It's similar to the guy that books the last beautiful large full service site with a work van and a screened shelter :)

@Glamper 64

I have a pet peeve. Your photo of snow on your camper and campsite makes me put on another sweater everytime I see it.:cool: At least add a big campfire to it so I can warm back up.

Having an indoor fire here at home helps a little :)
Unfortunately I can't have a big trailer day fire until opening day May 10th :(
My countdown is @ 126 long days to go and counting...really peeving me off :)

Or the guys who figured out the hack to keep all their running lights on when parked and do so all night and day.

Or the city folks who are afraid of the dark so they light up their campsites with 10,000 bright lights!!

Or the guy with the big screen outdoor TV who likes to watch action movies all night with the volume set at rock concert level.

And maybe the worst; people who hijack other poster’s threads. 😆

In the case of wintertime, jabber of additional nature can take place. And sometimes it has been my obervation that the OP can participate in a threads hyjacking too.:D Shame, shame LOL

I clicked off my cruise control as I catch up to you. Then you race me up to 85 miles an hour to prevent me from passing. What is going through your mind?

THIS!!!! It's like the other driver perceives you as trying to dominate them.

I visited the inside of my camper last week.
My restaurant has out annual staff and favorite customer Christmas party. tis year one of my cooks went a bit overboard. I ran home and warmed up the camper, let the slide out. Then, taxied him t my house and poured him into the U dinette bed, for the night.

The sexy day, after he was gone, the camper was nice and warm. I went inside with my coffee and watched some morning news. :D

You've reminded me of an old pet peeve @31...my driveway is about 4' short of fitting my old RV. I would have loved to park it in the driveway instead of a storage place 25 minutes away and $900 for the year for six years! It really peeved me off when it was time to do some maintenance or cleaning!
Nice of you to use the RV as a B&B for your drunken chef :) Curious, did you mean "next" day or "sexy" day when the trailer was nice and warm? :)

This thread could be perfect to peeve on the new software upgrade :)
Actually I'm finding it okay/not to confusing so far, but the lack of posters is peeving me off :( I guess it's a combo of the off season and the new system:ranger:
The winter blahs are also setting in...come on May!

My forum pet peeve are those pesky moderators we have here. There should be term limits and elections or some such.

People who block access to your campsite by parking such that their slides impinge on your site
We had a pull through site and it was about sixty feet long
Plenty of room and we pulled toward the forward end
The access was actually a v shape with shared entry Campers pulled in and stopped with the rear of their unit blocking this access
Not a problem for us as we weren't going to back up but we were leaving a day before they were and we found out the next occupant would have a 40 foot MH and wouldn't be able to get in
We told them this and they didn't care
It was a State Park and we advised the rangers who hadnt seen their parking
Lo. they moved with a whole bunch of huff and puff with rangers watching
We tried not to be seen laughing

Letting your Diesel truck idle for the longest time sending Diesel fumes through out the campground. Just get in your truck and drive away, leave quickly.
