RV antifreeze & black-tank pods?

Here in Alabama the winters are short, so we're getting ready to un-winterize for upcoming season.

I figure that by the time I'm done flushing the system with fresh water, I'll have a half-gallon or so of RV antifreeze and water mix in the black tank. Do I need to drain that mix, or just drop in a pod and add a couple of gallons of fresh water and proceed to camp?

Putting the question another way, does RV antifreeze neutralize black water chemicals?

Thanks in advance,

Rick

Not sure what chemicals you use in the black tank
We have never used any as we have a four day only capacity and have no stink issues

IMHO, I wouldn't worry about it. That being said, I rarely add any black tank treatments but do use a lot of water.

I haven’t had any issues just leaving it in there till we dump it on our first trip.
Don’t worry about it and go have fun.

Apologies for just getting back to this. It's been a busy springtime.

We use a pod called Bio-Pouch Waste Digester and Odor Eliminator

I'm about to head out to work and haven't uploaded a photo of the bag to a host, so I'll come back and post up a picture of the container.

You'll be fine just dropping the pod and going. As mentioned above, going without tank treatment is usually without any adverse smells or problems, especially for a couple days. Almost all black tank problems begin with not enough water.

To be extra careful, and impress your family, add about a bowl full or two of fresh water and casually mention needing to "reduce the propylene glycol ratio to less than 100 parts per thousand to allow the microbial action of the tank treatment to be effective". It's all made up, but they will look at you in awe.

Happy Camping!

I have a new camper and have decided to go with the Kleen Tank home made concoction of Calgon beads and PineSol. I mixed Up a gallon yesterday and put it
In the bathroom. Ready for first trip in later May.
