My wife and I are going to swap out our Dutchman for a Jayce travel trailer. Are there any that we should absolutely positively stay away from? Looking for something between 2000-2025.

... tough question to answer. I think no matter what year or model you review, you will find satisfied owners and dissatisified owners. Find a floor plan you like and when you locate the trailer find out as much as you can about the one you're looking at.

I essence, there are some that are good and some that aren't and it doesn't make any difference what you spend.

I had a 2017 24RBS. I really enjoyed that floor plan and never had a bit of trouble in 5 years. Tried to buy same floor plan in 2024, but I couldn't find anything within 500 miles. I ended up with a 240RBS.

We just traded a 2020 317RLOK Eagle for a new Pinnacle. We loved our Eagle! The floor plan is perfect for a couple with the ability to have guests on a fold out queen sofa. We traveled for 5 years with it and put over 70K miles on it. Can't speak to other models but this one is a winner! Safe Travels!

Only you know what features and floorplan(s) work best for your family. For instance, our 212QBW is perfect for just the two of us and the pooch. No slide, not terribly heavy or long. But it wouldn’t work for a family or a pack of grandkids.

Once you zero in on ones you like, you might want to re-post here asking for thoughts on those specific models. As for build quality, the same model can vary greatly depending on where/by whom/when it was built. Yeah, there seemed to be quality issues during Covid but those may be over.

The most important thing is to do a thorough PDI when you buy, new or used, to ensure nothing is faulty. A search here will turn up some excellent checklists to go by when you’re ready to pull the trigger. Good luck!
