Nice find, been waiting for this for 4 years. Just ordered one,
Thanks for posting.

Pete

Hi all,
Atlas Gen 2 came in today and decided to install. Everything seemed to line up perfectly but the part that opens the door [not deadbolt] would not catch the underside of the j-clip in the installation video there is a nub? at bottom of the
j-clip to engage, but mine doesnt have 1, attaching pics.
Just wondering if yours had that Nub on the bottom or not?
I also called Rvlock and sent them a vid of the piece sliding under the J. They
said push up on the handle while i tighten the screws and it "should" work. I dont think it would stay in place and i would get locked out.
Currently looking for a replacement rotary latch with a nub.
Thanks
Pete

Hi all,
So not finding a replacement j-clip with a nub i looked a liitle harder at the
atlas lock and back plate.
Come to find out that pin actually enters the bottom hole of the back plate
(thus bypassing the need to move the bottom of the J) The upper part of the lower J enters the rectangular hole above the bottom 1.
So bottom line, sorry for some useless information.
The product works as reccomended, it was a reasonably simple install (just
don't overthink it, my bad)
I'd reccomend this product to any 1 who can use a screwdriver.
This is the best video i.ve seen

BTW i had no calibration nut and np with install.
Thanks
Pete

Hey Pete I did not understand your post about the J-Clip or anything related.. but it seems it is a straight forward then? Easy as remove existing one and replace with new one... I think my door is not perfectly align...as most of the time I need to pull on it from the inside to put the lock in place.... do you think that will be an issue with the Atlas?

Hi Embeleco,
Yes it endeded up being a pretty simple install. Being a carpenter for 45 years and installing hundreds of types or door knobs, rv's are a definite challenge
because things can become out of a square easily. Alante's post and vid is a great place to start.
With most door latches there is a decent amount of play (in out and up down)
The problem is with the deadbolt. there is almost no play.
Try Alantes vid get things working as best as possible, make sre the dead bolt is engaging, then install the new lock.
Feel free with any other questions.
Thanks
Pete

@hawkmaster sometimes I think being skilled in a trade makes working on these worse. Ignorance is bliss.

Can you explain this a little more? We will be getting ours this week and want to make sure there are no issues. Are you saying when the back plate is put on the J lines up automatically with the bottom hole?

Hi Sim,
Yes, dont worry about the J. the important piece is the silver pin at the bottom
right of the j (highlighted in green) it go's into the bottom hole of the back plate,
The upper part of the j that turns inwards goes into the rectangular hole of the
back plate( drew a black line to it)
Hope this helps
Pete
