Seal my roof, how often?

The roof or the existing caulking? The roof really doesn't need to be sealed. You just need to check and re-caulk as needed. If you want to only do it once cover everything with ETERNABOND TAPE.

I like the idea of using tape. I had some suspicious spots on my rear edge and taped it there. I did not like the look of taping over the caulk but did so.

Question-- how hard to remove the lumpiness of the caulk for a smooth/neat/prettier finished look? Next summer I will be looking at the rest of the seams on my 2017 so would like to be prepared. (30+ years of Scouting) to do my best.

Thank you

Too new to worry about sealing. I had to seal my 2002 5'er in 2016. I just did my 2011 this summer. Henery's Tropicool. You will have to do it at some point. The black started showing thru on both of mine. You should be good for 10 years. You will need to check it and caulk with Dicore and patch with Eternabond. Eternabond is not meant for complete roof coverage.
