Second TV Installation

I have recently purchased a 2020 Redhawk SE 22C which has a template for a tv wall mount marked on the wall of the bedroom area. I would like to install a TV bracket there,. Has anyone done this and have recommendations or warnings?

I did. It's about a 12" x 12" plywood support in that wall, at the location of the yellow sticker. Keep in mind, the wall is only like 1-1/2" thick, so use short screws... otherwise you'll add some towel holders (screw points) in the bathroom...

If you have a Stud Sensor, you can sound out the wall to see where the edges of the plywood is.

Your 22C will have the same build as my 22J. What you see marked is a piece of plywood,1/2 X 14 X 19 1/4. I used large pan head screws. I bought a TV mount that has 4 screws versus the standard 2. Finally, I got a TV that was really light.

Here's the TV I installed. It weighs 5 pounds. It also matches what I have in it already. I would suggest the extra cash on an extended warranty in this case. TVs aren't designed to be bounced around like with what we do with them in an RV:

I have an Insignia as my main TV, so I didn't want to put in a second of the same make, so the remotes don't conflict with each TV.

I installed a 32" Vizio SMART TV in the bedroom area. Gotta make sure wifey can access all her favorite stuff.

You have a 24B, I have a 22J, so yours is more open. It's an IR remote, so it needs line of sight. Not sure how it would do in yours, but it isn't an issue in mine. While I wanted a smart TV, it was an additional 2 to 3 pounds. A Roku added is just ounces.

My TV setup has the TV PANEL where you can turn the power ON-OFF that operates the TV Antenna built-in PRE-AMPLIFIER. This is how my setup is wired for this...

For a 2019 and on 22C/22J, it's a bit different. It no longer uses a bat wing, and the one marked 'Bedroom
TV Jack' feeds a balanced 3 way splitter. This feeds to the main tv, bedroom, and outside tv. What says 'To Main TV' in your diagram is open.

In the 22J and 22C, the main TV is up in the upper bunk, so you're actually pointing away from the bedroom to change channels.

In my rig, the TV is mounted on the pantry cabinet, so I'm pointing directly towards the bedroom when I operate the main TV. I can see the bedroom TV when sitting at the dinette.

Plus, I wanted at least one SMART TV in the rig (I might change out the Insignia soon, too). I didn't feel the weight was any big issue. The plywood would have to rip out of the wall (which is possible, based on Jayco quality) before the TV comes down.

Ah, that's right- it's in a weird angle- at least to me. Take a look at the roku express- more than likely it can fit all of your needs for a smart TV. Throw in a base model set and it's best of both worlds. My main reason to buy a Roku is upgradability. I've seen TV get left in the dust as they progress forward. It also streams to 1080, which if you buy a 720 or a 1080 TV is all you need.

eeek - Thank you for the information. Have you had any issues with this mount/tv moving while you are driving? I notice that it does not have a lock as some of the others do. We just bought a 22J and the front TV does have a mount with a lock.

No, no issues. The TV is rock solid. I intentionally got a mount with 4 holes versus 2 and used large wood screws. The mount only goes up at down. I was concerned about it not moving left and right, but after having the TV installed for a year, that is not a problem whatsoever.

One last question, does this bracket allow the TV to turn down enough so you can comfortably watch TV while in bed of the 22J?

That's the only time and place I watch this TV- in my bed in my 22J.

I have a 32RL, but had the sticker for a TV in the bedroom. Glad I used a stud finder, as where the sticker was on the wall was NOT where the board support was. In any case, we used a 27"Emerson LED TV, and have had no issues so far. Really, the bedroom in ours is so small that this TV was perfect.

Thank you. We went with a smaller TV because the back wall is so close.
