Seneca maintenance and washing aid

I bought the Werner Baker style scaffold for maintenance on our Seneca and finally got around to stretching it so it would fit over the front nose for washing. With some measuring, I found that 1.5”x 2.5” x.120 wall rectangle tubing layer right in the side channel of the beams. I cut the beams in half and welded it in the channel of the beams, I also added a flange along the top edge out of 3/4”x 3/4” angle iron to hold the platform in like the original beams do, then cut a piece of plywood to fill in the platform Worked out great and doesn’t have any flex at ll in the beams....even with me on it should make washing the front cap MUCH easier. Just finished up polishing and Ceramic Coating the last section today.

Nice job! That certainly makes cleaning and waxing the front end a lot easier than the two step ladders and a long plank that I’ve been using!

After a lot of research I went with Armor Shield IX, gets great reviews and the application is straight forward. So far it looks great but time will tell how it holds up. It took me 4-1/2 of the 30ml bottles, but I did 2 coats on all the forward facing sections and the compartment doors and rear cap.

That stuff is $70 for 30ml !!! I hope it holds up for you.
BTW, I called Diamond Shield to ask them what they recommend and to keep the Diamond Shield warranty. They said an old fashion past wax like Turtle wax. That is all I have been using on the Diamond Shield.
With that said, I have used Nu Finish on my Harleys and cars for 20 years. You can still see your own reflection on my 21 year old Chevy Blazer.

There are many discount codes and when you start buying multiple bottles you get significant price breaks. I think all in all with shipping it ran $140 for 5 bottles. I was almost going to start using Rejex as it gets rave reviews on the RV forums but after researching the Ceramic decided to give it a go as I needed to do the same prep work for either product. if it lives up to the hype, it will be worth it.

I have used Nu Finish since it came out in the mid-70s and in my opinion you can't beat it. It gives a great shine and holds-up a very long time.

Sorry, didtnt see this sooner. I used two 72" pieces and made the total overall length of the beams 114" and it easily clears the front end.
