Shore power and TV outlet not working

Tried the search and read lots about the TV outlet above the cab. I know about the ignition relay, that’s not my issue. Currently in campground connected to shore power. The TV outlet above the cab will only work if I turn on my inverter. Is that how it is supposed to work? Makes no sense to me to need the inverter on when I’m parked and plugged in to shore power. Thanks for any input.

Transfer switch probably went bad..or it's unplugged...or is the Inverter feed on a separate breaker?

I think both the Inverter and transfer switch are under your bed, at least that seems to be the location for most Greyhawks.

Thanks Grumpy, I’ll check for the transfer switch under the bed and recheck the breakers. Everything else 110 and 12v is working normally.

Depending on inverter brand, the transfer switch for that circuit may be a separate small transfer switch or one built into the inverter. My Greyhawk has the external version. The output wire from the inverter feeds another "black box" which also has 120 volt input from the breaker panel.

The attached picture shows my transfer switch. The silver assy at the top is my inverter and you can see the cord going from it to the transfer switch.

Finally got a peek yesterday under the bed, didn’t see an external TFS for the inverter, guess it’s internal. Nothing unplugged. Have a 110 circuit breaker for inverter that was not tripped. Not sure how to test further.

Check the Inverter for a breaker or reset on the side. If no secondary transfer switch then it is internal and could have failed. Can you post a pic of the Inverter?

I can’t tell how many wires are connected. Looks like 12DC +&- and 120vac romex connected, and one control wire or ground. Sorry kind of color blind, can’t tell color of the small one. So, there needs to be one more at 120 volts. One coming in and one going out.
