Just got a new Jayco North Point.
Can I leave the heat on in the camper to keep from winterizing the trailer for now. I'm in Alabama can be 80 or 8. Usually just for a short time. Planning on going on a trip in March.

I guess you can, but I would only do it as long as your connected to shore power. Do you have the heat pump? Or do you have to use propane for heat?

I do have the heat punp. It's at home under a shed so power in not a problem. Was thinking of using the LP Heat set on 50 or 60 degrees if the temperature was to go down to freezing. Just didn't want to winterize for just a short period of time.

If you have constant power and it was me, I'd just use the heat pump on electric set to 55 or 60 degrees. That way you save your propane. I would think that your temps are comparable to here in north Texas. My Northpoint is currently winterized (all I did was blow out the lines) and my batteries are hooked up to a battery tender. I just checked on it today and all is good!

Congrats on the new camper!

Sounds like a plan if you have constant power at home and can avoid burning propane for the next month. You could also throw a $20 electric heater inside for the really cold night. Just for a warm fuzzy, I throw a remote temperature sensor in the basement near the fresh water tank too.

A heat pump will not heat the underbelly, which is where most of your water lines are. Only the ducted furnace will put heat down there. Also make sure you leave the cabinet doors open so heat can get at the lines behind them.

Don't the heat pumps have trouble when ambient goes below freezing? I recall having read that a few times regarding the units equipped with heat pumps.

And I agree with Seann that leaving the cabinets and storage compartments open is a good idea. We have done that before.
