Slide issue

Hi all, new to the forum but not to camping. On my 2012 Jayco jay flight 28bhs I had the slide stop working this weekend while breaking camp. I was pulling the slide in and right at the point it fully closed I didn’t hear the tell tale clicking that indicates the slide is all the way in. Luckily the slide was in when it stopped but I’m trying to figure out what happened. I can hear the motor spinning and the slide looks like it is still on the track. There is a good bit of play in the slide now when I rock it gently back and forth. I’m having trouble getting under the jack knife couch to get a better look. So two questions, does this sound like a shear pin and what is the best way to get access u see the couch. Thanks in advance.

Is this a rack & pinion slide with the clutch & motor all one unit?

I think so but I’m not too familiar with what they look like.

They have two bars, one on each side, with teeth facing downward. There should also be a "tube" on one end with a worm gear.
