Slide lubrication question.

what to put on slide outs

I just buy this silicone spray that is for the RV slideouts at Walmart. Although lately Walmart is iffy on finding RV items without ordering them. "3 in one" is the brand I use.
I am likely not the person to ask where to spray it at, but I understood and this is what I do. I open the slideout and crawl under and wear a mask and glasses, smelling this stuff is not the healthiest idea, and I spray the runners under it that are open that bring out the slide. The slide is usually held up by 2 to 3 long bars that have cogs in them that run the slide out at the push of your inside button. Good to do it often.
Anyone else correct me or if you have a picture please post for clarification as I really don't know all of the terms for it.
I also use the same stuff to spray the joints on my steps so they will retract and open smoothly. Silicone is important to not collect dirt and dust like d5W does.

IMHO, Pretty much any dry lube with ptfe would be good, you do not want dirt embedding in a wet / greasy lube, especially with the underneath through the frame type slide mechanisms. Once a year would be fine.

Before I spray the dry lube I use a dry brush to clean out the cogs. Traveling down the road you’ll be picking up some water spray & road grime that will accumulate on the tracks.

if its s schwinteck slide, for the rails they recommend CRS Powerlube with PTFE. Amazon is not the cheapest place to get this stuff but its convenient

for the seals I use RV rubber seal conditioner.

Slide wipers/rubber

I was following this thread on using the 3in1 slide out lube. Has anyone used it on the wipers/ rubber seals on the top and sides of slides? Ours sort of stick so was wondering about using it on them as well. TIA

I have, seem to do just fine. I hit them a couple of times a yesr

the Schwinteck slide is the only one I know that requires lubrication. CRC Powerlube with PTFE is the one recommended from the manufacturer in their video. The Slimrack to my knowledge basically says to keep the rails clean. Rack and Pinion I make sure to clean the metal rails as needed, usually once or twice a year. I spray Brake cleaner on the teeth, wipe clean, and for my piece of mind, spray with the same CRC powerlube.
