Today my husband closed our slide out on our trailer 34rsbs. Once closed we look
Ed down and at the point where thr frame lined up with the camper there seemed to be a gap. It appeared that the rubber seemed to be caught. We pulled the rubber back and the gap disappeared. This worries me. For one I dint know if the other side of the slide out has the same problem. And of course two is that this gap leaves an area for mice to come in.
So my question is. Is this normal this happens and all we can do is pull the rubber back. Or is something wrong and if yes how do we fix this
Thanks again for your help

Any time our slides are moved, we stop half way In or out and see if the seals are in the correct position before there moved all the way to the stop points. It puts you on the ladder outside and step stool inside but its better than having a seal partially flipped the wrong way and water getting past and inside the trailer.

This looked like the rubber under it went into the trailer. Should I have pulled it back? And not have allowed it to go in

From what your describing it could be a sweeper seal or a bulb seal problem. A picture might help here as the sweeper seals are the ones that keep the water out when the slide is open and are mounted to the coach and are on top and the sides of the coach and look like a long squeegee and the bulb seals keep water out when the slide is closed and can be mounted to the side of the coach or on the slide itself and look like a long rubber tube, can you tell from that?
