So ready for Spring in Connecticut

Hey, ya'all. We're anticipating the arrival of our 2010 Jayco Super Lite 28.5RLS. We are so excited to start out the season in our new fifth wheel. We've already made reservations at the Myrtle Beach KOA for a week in June.

It's great to read the previous postings and find some answers to the questions that we had. Happy camping to each of you.

Is it here yet!?!?!?!?!
Enjoy your new rig, when you can. Perhaps you could camp in the driveway to find some items you may need before you head out for the first time in the new Jayco?!?! Hook it up, turn on some heat and make sure everything works!

Waiting for Spring stinks. We are going thru Cabin Fever right now. We are lucky as we are moving Spring up a couple months. We are leaving the Chicagoland area and heading for Texas. Looking out the window at the blowing snow and sub-zero temps coming in again.
I Can't Wait!!!!!

That's exactly what we were saying last night that we would be real smart to kick up all the water, gas and electric things in the trailer before we find ourself in a campground with a leak, etc. Thanks for the suggestion. We're looking to camping as many weekends as possible this year.

Welcome to the forum. Lets face it .....checking your equipment in the driveway is a good idea and besides its fun to campout even when its only the driveway. No extra charge for water and electricity either! Heeheheee

Carla and Dave,

You will want to fire up your furnace before you need it. The first time a new furnace in a Jayco is used it produces toxic fumes that can set off your smoke alarm and make you wonder if the furnace has set something on fire. The fine print in the furnace booklet provided by your dealership says to operate the furnace the first time with windows and door(s) open.

Unfortunately, my wife and I failed to read the fine print BEFORE we used our furnace the first time and we got a pretty good scare with the noxious fumes and the alarm going off. So there we were in near-freezing weather with the doors and windows open to clear the fumes and get the alarm to shut off while belatedly reading the fine print in the furnace booklet.

I'm just sayin'. . . . .

LOL Sam and Gayle! So true. Man, I remember that first night we used ours furnace. Holy Cow! Those darned smoke alarms have a reeeeally high pitch and very loud sound when they go off! I think we had to pull our smoke alarm battery out for quite awhile that first trip.
