I have a 2023 Jayco Jayfeather 21MML that has the 200watt solar package. I plan on connecting the trailer AC supply plug into a separate inverter battery power supply. I know I have to turn off the trailer converter/battery charger when I do this. However will the on-board battery still charge from the 200 watt solar panel through the solar charge controller when I turn off the breaker for the converter? I am not sure if the converter has the solar charge controller built-in to it or not?

As explained to me by Renogy, if the converter voltage is higher than your MPPT it will simply not work. If the MPPT senses a lower voltage in the wires it will charge the battery at a higher voltage. On mine, the converter is lead acid only and the MPPT will charge it all the time there is sun and low battery.

You might watch a youtube, call whoever made your MPPT or go to Renogy.com and look at some solar learning items they have on on their website that I found easy to understand.
