I just purchased a PECRON E600LFP Solar System kit. Haven’t had a chance to use it yet. I am interested in hearing other’s experiences with using portable solar panels. I.E. what works and what doesn’t work as well. Any tips or tricks to make the most of it.
I was wondering about using the “easel” like stand that comes attached, and just leaving it on the ground vs. laying it on top of camper.
Also, if on camper top, lay flat or use the stand to angle towards sun light?

Definitely point it at full sun and move it as needed. In winter my roof flat mounted panels output just over half of what they will in the summer. Being portable, experiment if your contoller displays output.

Thanks for the input. I got a chance to experiment with it a little this evening. But the sun was already low in the sky and partly cloudy, so I did see quite a variation in charging output. Especially when the clouds came and went. It varied from low 20W up to mid 80W. So I definitely got a feel for how they are aimed has an impact.

I and a lot of others have roof top solar that always lays flat. This works great if they produce enough electricity to recharge your battery. My panels at 200 watts rated output regularly keeps my battery at full charge even in partial shade.

I have read elsewhere that a good item to go with portable panels is some kind of locking system to prevent sticky fingers.
