Solar ready Jayco's?

I have a 2022 Jayco 310RLTS that is "Solar Ready". Does that mean I can purchase an external solar kit off the shelf and plug in and it will provide additional power? Or do I need to have a system wired into the RV to charge my batteries as well?

It has the wiring for the panels to the inside and that’s it.

I was wondering about this, too. It's not mentioned at all in the documentation I have for my Redhawk.

I see that the roof has inputs, and I see another "solar ready" box in the exterior where the external TV can plug, and I think there's a controller by where the water filter is? Not sure. There's not a lot of detail there.

I have a renogy panel that I'd like to throw up there to provide the battery some trickle charge, but need to research this myself.

X2. If you are lucky, the wires are installed, installed correctly, labeled, and placed where they can be found. The installer needs to wire in the controller and verify it's connections, it's not plug and play. On our 5er, even the "Solar on the Side" connection for a portable panel is simply a SAE plug with loose wires hanging off the back. "Solar Ready" seems a bit optimistic to me, "partially solar ready" is more realistic.

It's as much marketing as useful. There should be wires going from the roof (or maybe just the side) to somewhere inside.

Kinda like the "arctic package" might be extra insulation all around with pipe and tank heaters or might be a single layer of coroplast underneath.

I wouldn't hook anything up without double checking where each wire goes.
