I have a 2017 31DS Grayhawk , I want to mount a spare tire underneath it . Does anyone have any recommendations on how to do this.

I have easily installed a CURT 31006 Hitch-Mounted Spare Tire Mount obtained from Amazon. It goes on the existing hitch on the back of my Class C. For long trips you may want to consider having a front hitch installed on the front to accommodate your tire carrier. This keeps the weight of the spare off of your rear axle. On a recent Alaska trip I kept the spare on the front which actually helped to better stabilize and make for a smooth ride. I like keeping as much weight as possible off of the rear axle. But either way, it is inexpensive and not much trouble putting it on or taking it off of your MH.

There are many post on how to mount under the coach.
I have bought a spare tire lift and steel to do this but have not
started on project.
In the meantime we a storing Spare in rear compartment.

Thanks Oklahoma, I take bikes along on most trips and would rather put it underneath, but you are right it puts more weigh on the rear axle. Just trying to look at all my options.

Thanks again.

I keep our spare in the rear compartment. It doesn't really take up too much room, and it keeps it out of the elements.

Ok, yes plenty of room back there. Only had mine 3 months now any we really like it.

I have a 2016, got it a little over a year ago. Put over 20000 miles on it already. Very few problems, mostly small ones that I took care of myself.

Wow, I am not retired yet so we just do short trips right now. I have the on demand water heater and haven't quite figured it out yet. I am glad to hear that you had very few problems. I will keep in touch since we have the same unit.
My son's girlfriends parents live in Crown Point. We live right outside New Orleans .

We keep the temp set at 105 for the water heater, usually only have to turn on the hot water. Works good for us. Crown Point is a very nice town, we live about 20 miles north of it.

We spent a couple weeks last January at BUCCANEER STATE PARK, MS, which is not too far from you. Very nice park. We just returned from Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Montana. Visited a number of National Parks including Yellowstone. We drove over the Trail Ridge Road, in Rocky Mountain National Park – which crests at over 12,000 feet. We were pulling our small Chevy Equinox with us and our Greyhawk did a very good job getting up the mountains.

Get ahold of me if you need any help or have any questions. Will help if I can.

My spare goes in the rear storage compartment. Lots of room back there I still don't use, even with the spare. I do not carry jacks and tools for changing. Leave that up to Good Sam
