We are on the road. 15 days out. Getting ready to move from KY to MD on I 64 & I 79 in W. VA. Been looking on map do not see much.

Around Summersville and Sutton, there are several places. Battlerun campground, Hilltop is really nice.

If you like to boonedock, there is a 4H camp around Leadmine just above Parsons with a camping area behind the camp. It's been about 10 years since I have been there, and they have different care takers now. I don't know how that area is maintained now. There is some nice trout fishing, on that stream, and Cheat river is close by.

My favorite place that far is Blackwater State Park. Nice facilities, well maintained.

There is also Timerline State park. It's nice also, but its more on a hill side and the lots are not as level.

How far along do you want to get before you stop?

We are wanting to spend only one night on 64 then up to MD. Are these spots along I 64?

Thanks

No, most are about 10-20 miles off, some a little more.

About the only thing that comes to mind that is almost right off the interstate is Fox Fire, but that's before you get to Charleston. You might want to get a little farther away.

If you want something right along the road, you best bet would be a wall mart.

There are many places here that a two hour drive to the grocery store is still a common.

Beach Fork State Park is about 12 miles off, and easy to get in and out. What are you towing? There is one hill with a fairly sharp turn, but its pretty navigable. Get off the Barbersville exit, make a right and take alternate 10 over to it. Its less than 20 minutes from 64. Don't get off the Hall Greir exit, that route is almost single lane and a mess.

Those two are the closest camping areas to the interstate with easy access.
