Stepping down as moderator

Lee, I can't believe I am reading this... you'll certainly be missed. Now who's going to do polls? Haha

Seriously, you've done an outstanding job IMHO. Enjoy all the free time...

Doesn't everybody have the ability to create a poll?

Yes - anyone can do a poll, but somehow Crabmans are just the best. FWIW, we haven't let him slip out the back door entirely... he's still sticking around in an advisory capacity for a while and we're really grateful. I hoping he will miss us enough to return ;) Now there's a good poll... "should we re-conscript Lee".

ducking now ....

We join a forum to learn, to share points, ideas, repairs, or just simply to chat. Then some get involved as a moderator. At times, this starts to become work, which can take away from what you joined the site for. Some members buy a "new toy" and move on to other sites.

With camping however, it's different. A true camper never really looses interest in this adventure.A great thing about this site is that it is comprised of adults. In forums I've moderated in the past and present (mainly automotive), there are a lot of younger members, and as a mod, you spend most of your time cleaning up language in posts, issuing PM warnings, deleting threads that contain bickering between members, the list goes on.

This site is certainly a breath of fresh air, as folks here talk about camping, their campers, their tow vehicles, with none of the juvenile antics that can come along with other sites I've been members with.

I'm going to enjoy my stay here. Hats off to the staff here past, present, and future that do a great job maintaining it and keeping it this way.

If I start posting again....will you be forced out of retirement?

You deserve a break today, McCrabby.....Bravo!!! Thanks for the many ways you contributed to improve the experience around here.

Time to "pass the baton" as it were!

question

How do I start a new thread/post? I have several questions that relate to winter storage issues, and storage of batteries and cannot find exactly what I am looking for within any other posts... but don't see how to ask that with out just adding it without just replying to someone elses post that doesn't really relate to my question.

Click on the forum you wish to start the new thread in, for example "Jayco Travel Trailers". Click on "New Thread". If you are viewing someone else`s thread, you will not see the "New Thread" icon, so you must click on the forum first.

I just calculated that at my current posting level, it will take me 67.5 years to reach your current # of posts. I'd only be 123 years old. Could be done, I guess. Nice job and please keep posting, your knowledge is immeasurable.
