stuff breaking:caps & hubcaps

I have a Greyhawk 31 SS the way I did my hubcaps was I bought long stainless zip ties fished them thru cutouts in rim and across the hubcap never lost another and being stainless they do not rust and you hardly notice them

Confused

Every time we have borrowed our 2017 Redhawk to the son, things get broken. Recent trip: fresh water cap plastic broke off, gas cap "umbilical cord" broke off, and both hubcaps on the front wheels rolled into never never land. This is the 2nd time on the hubcaps. Has anyone else had frequent hubcap loss and if so, how did you prevent it from repeating? Am thinking of leaving them off and having the naked wheels chromed.

Borrowed? Loaned? Hubcaps did what?

You can tighten the spikes on the concaved, dully, rear hubcaps by bending the spikes that grab the rim. This I’ve done. However, I’m not sure about the front, hubcaps that are convexed? My rig is in the storage yard so I can’t check it for you, maybe someone here can check theirs.
