T-Mobile with External Omni Antenna?

I see a lot of reviews about using an external 2 x 2 mimo or 4 x 4 mimo antenna with a T-mobile hotspot or home internet set up. The problem with those antennas is they need to be aimed.

Is anyone using a Ubiquiti or other high quality OMNI antenna and if so what has your experience been? How much did it improve your download/upload speeds?

I have used T-mobile 55 Magenta Max to get 40 gigs of hotspot off my phone. Never used an antenna but don't always get reception in the Colorado mountains. I now have T mobile home antenna that I plan to take along and see how it works but not outdoors rated so will just sit it near a window per directions.
For those who don't know, T mobile over 55 is $70 for 2 phones incudes netflix, Max is 90 but has more hotspot data and other perks.

If you go T mobile and have a friend or family you can reward them if you enroll.

I use a Microtik antenna with a built in router. Setup was far more complicated than it had to be but it works well especially in weak signal areas. It does have to be aimed but once you find the sweet spot it performs very well with a T-mobile data plan Sim card. I had a secondary account with Verizon but once you insert the Sim card into the Microtik slot it is very difficult to get it out.

We have the Mikrotik LHG with a T-mo sim card in it. As Marcm states, the configuration can be tough for some... but it also includes some very advanced features that can be used to optimize your "on device data" which on most plans is truly unlimited. Those same plans limit the amount of "hot-spot" data vs on-device-data.

While we also have Starlink, we sometimes find that it is faster to use our Mikrotik LHG instead of the Starlink connection. A couple of weeks ago, we set up both and did a lot of comparisons while we were north of Phoenix.
