Tankless water heater

I have a 2015 Jayco Melbourne that has a tankless water that is not working, the dealer said it has a faulty inverter in it. Can some one explain how a inverter has an effect on the water heater while plug into shore line.

My tankless heater is LP only.

Water heater? Inverter? Those two items are not related.
