Tekonsha brake controller

I just tried setting up my brake controller as my final harness piece arrived and when I did, my Ford was basically saying I had some kind of mechanical failure until I disconnected it and then all the errors went away so then I tried disconnecting the negative battery plug it in again and again it said that there was some kind of mechanical failure and giving me all these errors and alerts so I had to disconnect it and I heard a buzzing sound from the brakes on my RV so I disconnected my vehicle and then that sound went away. Does anyone have any idea what’s going on? Thank you. This is an amazing community.

Is the pin pulled out of your break-away switch?

I’m glad you asked as I was able to learn what that was. I’ve noticed that wire but had no idea what it did. The pin seemed slightly loose so I nudged it back in. I no longer have the alerts on my dash and the brake controller went to a yellow color. I still hear the humming of the breaks on the RV and they only go off if disconnect from the van.
