Thanks tab

Now that the thanks button is working fine, here is a suggestion for the next version of the forum software.

How about a box that appears underneath a post that has received thanks? In the box could be the text, "The following users thank [username] for this helpful post." The usernames of the thanks-givers would be listed in the box. Currently I have no idea which posts were deemed helpful by other users...unless I'm not seeing something.

When you receive the PM (if enabled) notifying you that you have received a "Thanks", there is a blue highlighted link "this post" in the message that will take you to the post.

Also, if you click on the "User CP" tab, you should see a list of your "Thanks received", which also take you to the post in question.

Yup, my inbox is filling up with those!!

I'd like to see the usernames of the OTHER people (not me) who think a particular post is helpful. Right now in any given thread you can scroll from the OP to the end not knowing which posts OTHER users found helpful.

In other words, I'd like to see something at the bottom of crabman's post (for example) that shows rustic eagle thought crabman's post was helpful.

I'm not looking for feedback on posts that I thought were helpful I'm looking for visual feedback on users who think your posts were helpful...does that clarify my suggestion?

I understand what you mean...., and I see where I mis-interpited your earlier post when you did state "by other users".

Guess it's something that I will leave for Admin to comment on..., they do review all member suggestions, and evaluate server implications.

So is the Thanks tab only supposed to show up on the first post in a thread or on every reply? On the F150 forum (powered by V-bulletin) each reply to every post has a thanks button so you can give an "Amen Brother" to any helpful comment, not just the OP.

I think that would be a nice feature as you could show support or agreement for anyones input to a thread.

Yes the Ford F150 forum shows the thanks right below the post that is being thanked and by who....its a nice feature that stops a lot of one line posts.
