Yes, we dropped ours off last week for warranty work, and while there, took our salesman and wife out to dinner. Had a great time.

We called our insurance agent before we finalized the deal on our TT. I also booked a trip before finalizing the deal and picking it up. We brought it home, loaded it up, organized it then left the next day for our first trip.

How does the 6.4 handle this weight camper ?

It does fine for the most part. We have rolling hills where we travel nothing real steep. There are a few hills here and there with long grades and I do slow down from 65 to about 50 mph on those long grades. Last weekend I pulled it into a 23-25 mph wind with gusts to 33. It was all I could do to keep it at or around 65 mph which is my towing speed. But without those high winds it does fine. I have the 6 speed transmission. The 2019’s and newer have the 8 speed and I believe has better towing power. Keep in mind I’m around 10,500 lbs loaded (we travel pretty heavy).

I think everyone has different results on engine use and climbing. Mine is to scroll through Trans temp, oil temp, radiator temp. With my bigger 5.7 V8 Hemi I have never had any real increase over Colorado passes at 60 ( except the fuel guage acts funny, drops fast!). My 3.6 V6 started to warm up over some of them with the same trailer.

Took it home to learn what to maintain

I read the forum for 6 months before purchasing my travel trailer. I learned lots of great things. On the day we picked it up, I brought it home and started to create and maintenance list. I was very cautious about driving something so large so I wanted to make sure that everything mechanical was in shape.

I got it to travel for work. Got on Saturday & left Sunday. Had it since April & used it every week since

Not camp at home as everyone advises
Took off on a 10000 mile cross country trip!

Put air in the tires. All 5 were underinflated. The spare was the worst at 20psi. So much for any minimal faith that I had in the dealer PDI.

Drove it to work to show it off... So I chose. Took photos..Gave my insurance agent a call 2 days before we made the purchase..

Hauled it to Walmart to figure out how to park a 41’ fifth wheel with a short box. No 1 tons were harmed that day.

Drove 20 minutes back to the house towing it with my 2016 2500 and said “guess that’s what being overloaded feels like”.

We bought our 2016 Redhawk used. After the obligatory photos on social media and getting insurance etc. then next thing I did was to replace the smoke detector and CO/Propane detector. They were both original and I know they need to be replaced every 5 to 7 years.

We picked up our north point in Bozeman. Drove two days to get it. First night we stopped in a small town that didn't have fifty amp service. Went into town the following morning and got some adapters and water hoses. Next day stopped at a nice camp ground on I 80 in Nevada. Once we got it home, we got the correct app installed. Installed a third AC. Converted the refer from gas/110v to 12v. Fixed the water heater. Fixed the inverted outlets. Gave up on the wi-fi booster. Now we are trying to figure out why the heat pumps won't run. It's always something. Full timers so the dealers and warranty without a home is a nonstarter.

We picked ours up on a Saturday, then took it home and put out stuff in it. After that we took a short road trip to show it to the kids. It didn't get to it's storage spot for several days.

Then the next weekend we did a shake-down camping trip to a nearby state park.
