how rapidly do tire pressure monitors respond to pressure changes.
I reciently aired up tires on a freinds cadillac when the low pressure indicator appeared on instrument panel and when I increased the pressure to approximately the recommended PSI with a guage it took 5 minutes or more before the instrument panel showed the new readings.
If the aftermarket monitors are this slow to alert you of change they are of no use when a tire on the trailer goes flat.
just wondered if anyone had first hand knowledge of monitor reaction time?

The tire monitors on my 2007 Chevy pickup react immediately. As soon as I change the air pressure in the tire the monitor reflects the change. Your friend may want to have the Cadillac dealer check his tire monitor software the next time he has the car in for service. The dealership will have a plug-in diagnostic tool that can determine if the tire monitoring system is functioning correctly and reset the system if needed.

Our Honda Odyssey has reacted immediately with pressure change. We haven't had any experience with our F-150 at this point, but it is only 6 months old and not used a lot currently.

I use the monitor on my 2008 2500HD Silverado to fill my tires to the level I want.....seems to react very quickly. :)

I have one of the cheaper systems that I got on eBay where the pressure sensor screws on to the valve stem. It does not show the actual pressure - it just gives an alarm if the pressure goes below 28psi. I test the sensor each time that I check the tire pressure, and it takes maybe five seconds to go into alarm ....

I installed a TST system on our 5er. It reacts immediately to any change in pressure or temp. It has saved my bacon twice so far and I won't travel without it.

I installed the Pressure Pro on the truck & the 5th wheel. I love the security of knowing the pressure in all tires. I installed it after driving along side a trailer with a blown tire. We pulled up to tell the guy, his trailer suffered a lot of damage.
