Toilet Issue

Therford foot flush toilet is not closing properly. I have to put my foot under the pedal and pull it up so that it will close completely. Is there something there that needs to be lubricated or is it a valve that needs to be replaced?

Lubing the outside moving parts got mine working for a while but that may just be short term. I would get the model # and get one on hand.

We had that happen on ours. Turns out a good cleaning of the seal fixed it.

I use a rubber lubricant on my seal each time I go out and very heavily before winter storage. Search for Thetford Drain Valve Lubricant.


I pour in a couple capfulls to the dry toilet. Open and shut the valve a few times with water off. Then store with a little extra on the valve.
