Well finally.....sheesh this has taken a long time to make happen. We are picking up the X213 on the 17th. Can't wait to get a trip scheduled. I still have to order a couple of those Champion gens. I will get some pics when we pick it up and get them posted. Later!

I came very close to getting the X213 when momabear was wanting hard sides... Did alot of research on the unit... Even did some close looking at how to use the bunk bed area for an OFFICE/RADIO CONSOLE/Computer area... There is only the two of us so don't need the bunks.

Regarding the generators - they are nice to have to have but I would invest in beefing up the battery system to run your trailer when off the power grid. Then you only need ONE 2KW Honda type generator to able to re-charge your batteries in a quick three hour generator run time each day. This is what we do here - we run all the 120VAC things we want to run off of an INVERTER and all the 12VDC things we want to run direct connected to the generator. Our trailer is now using LED lights and has the smart-mode charging technology converter/charger on-board. We watch HDTV every night, light up the outside just like we do at regular camp sites with electric. We actually do just about everything we do at the electric sites except no air conditioning or use of high wattage microwave.

I think you will find out alot of camp grounds will have generator run time restrictions in place including the Natl Forest etc... We haven't found any PUBLIC place here on the East side of the US (Perhaps NASCAR) that allows you to run your generator after 8PM at night let alone all night long. Sure can't run your air conditioner to cool things down with these restrictions in place.

Please check with the places you are going to visit and see what their generator run times are going to be.

Camping off the power grid is our favorite way of camping and it does take some planning to be successful about it. Just can't show up and expect everything to do what you want it to do... It usually got dark on us around 10PM when we tried that approach haha...

All of our camping is mostly on the EAST side of the US. Use of generators on West side is probably more accepted...

Good choice on your X213... The only downside I discovered was to be sure to watch the very large bedroom slide and make sure it is always ending up level when being extended. There was a rash of complaints in the 2010 time frame where the adjustments and possibly weak slide motor caused a bunch of problem. being unlevel because of slide adjustments etc sometimes ended up tearing the seat cushions on the dinette and couch furniture inside. JAYCO probably have all of those problems all fixed up good by now...

The X213 would have been the perfect size and weight trailer for us with our Ford F150 truck... We are still running the roads in our OFF-ROAD POPUP.
