Greetings All,

I'm new to group and new to travel trailers. My question is on tongue weight. I just bought a 2002 Jayco Eagle 272 FKS. My Class IV hitch is rated for 1000lbs tongue weight, but the trailer I just purchased is listed at around 1100lbs tongue weight. Will the weight distribution hitch lighten the tongue load enough to be under the rated 1000lbs?

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from the group.

I'm techie challenged, but would like to welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum mbond1105. Have fun with your new Eagle. Lots of Eagle owners frequent this site. Let us know how your first camping trip goes! :)

My envoy has a 400lb 'dead' tongue weight, but will take 912lb with a WD hitch, therefore my 23K with a 600lb tongue fits the bill....

Good question though - something you'd hate to learn the hard way!

Thank you all for your information. I'll check out the link.
I appreciate your input.

WDH is going to take care of what you need. Hope you have enough HP to pull it cause I ran into that problem very early on in my camping life.
