Hi all, new here.
I was wondering if there is a post about towing and what its called. Any help appreciated!
I have a '10 F150, max tow pkg. It has the 3.73 gears, 5.4l, integrated trailer brakes.
I made a commitment to our local dealer to purchase a '11 29RES. I beleive thats an Eagle super lite?

Thank you

Hi Jeff and welcome. At the moment there is not a towing or tow vehicle forum here but post your questions in the travel trailer forum and we will try to answer them if possible. That is an Eagle Superlite.

These are Trailer Life's tow ratings for 2010 vehicles; its a good staring point to determine what your truck can haul: http://www.trailerlife.com/Images/DigitalEditions/pdfs/DigitalTLTowGuide2010.pdf

According to Jayco, here are the specs of the vehicle you are interested in:

* 298RES Specifications

Weights
Unloaded Vehicle Weight 7,300
Hitch Weight (lbs) 870
Gross Vehicle Weight (lbs) 9,200
Cargo Carrying Capacity (lbs) 1,900
Measurements
Exterior Travel Length 33'11"
Exterior Height w/AC 133"
Interior Height 81"
Tank Capacities
Fresh Water Capacity (gals.) includes water heater 76
Gray Wastewater Capacity (gals.) 32.5
Toilet / Black Wastewater Capacity (gals.) 32.5
Other
Sleeping Capacity 3-8

Remember, UVW means unloaded vehicle weight - empty of all the stuff (water, propane, food, clothing, supplies) you might take. Also, options you add can affect the weight. Probably, you should figure on the GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) as that is the maximum your trailer could theoretically weigh. If you are near the top of the weight recommended for your truck, consider carefully. Generally, less tows better than more.

I tow the 298res with the 2010 F150 5.4L w/tow package, rated for 11000lbs, does well enough for me and the wife. We usually don't travel with water in the tanks and that helps a lot. Have not climbed in big hills here on the east coast yet but traveling on I95 is not an issue.
