Is there plenty of overhang to hook up and turn without bumper hitting the camper? My current SRW clears easily. With a longer bed of a DRW just wondering how close it is. I assume the distance from the hitch to the tailgate is longer than the SRW.

The tailgate height between my SRW and the DRW is within 1/2” so no worry there. I wish I could measure but camper is at dealer.

Are there any other lookouts with the DRW?

Our truck is down so had to borrow our friends 2017 F350 dually. The tailgate has to be closed before the trailer could be hooked - which is the same as our F450. There was sufficient distance for towing.

When I went to a 2016 dually from my 06 F350 LB, the dually actually sat a little lower........

Be careful when hooking up and make sure you are STRAIGHT. Tailgate is very close to fifth wheel when hooking up.

When I had the dually I could hook up with the tgate down, same with my SRW I have now, lots of room to spare if straight, could hook @ 45deg if I wanted to. Dually I could turn 90deg or more (never did because the trailer wheels look horrible then), with the SRW I can get about 60deg which is more than enough for me. This is with the 361REQS.

No issues at all with the F-450. It's pretty much the same as the 350 as far as bed and bumper clearances.
The only thing I would suggest, as other have already, is to watch the tailgate when hitching up. I keep mine down/open when hitching but it does get close. Make sure you stay fairly straight when hooking up.

Thanks for the replies. Picking new truck up tomorrow. Hopefully can get camper from dealer soon when warranty work is completed.
