The owners manual says I have a tpo roof made by Alpha but the pictures don't add up. The roof has a white coating and under it is a black rubbery surface. I own a 2005 Jay Feather

Contact Jayco. You'll need your VIN number. May be easiest using their website:

https://www.jayco.com/site/contact/service/

I've used that form and found them to be very responsive and helpful.

plouffe13,

Welcome to JOF :D

In 2005 Jayco used both the TPO (thermo plastic) and EPDM (rubber) roofing materials, it varied with the different models (FW, TT, HTT, etc.). The TPO material had a rough textured feel to it's top surface, the EPDM had more of a smooth surface feel.

My original TPO material on my 2005 Eagle had a "fleece" backing, not rubber. I had my TPO replaced with EPDM a couple years later under warranty due to issues with a roof/side wall leak.

It's possible if you purchased your 2005 trailer used it may have been replaced with a EPDM material, or the manual was in error due to the two different materials used back then.

Remove the plastic A/C grill from the interior ceiling, there should be some excess roofing material there that you can confirm if it's TPO (look for the fleece backing).

There are liquid roof sealing products that can be used but the RV roofing material should be confirmed to insure product compatibility. More importantly is checking all roof/sidewall areas (vents, stink pipes, seams windows, marker lights etc.) for caulking that is in need of touch-up and/or replacing.

Dicor (popular with RV'rs) has a number of RV products that are used for caulking and roof sealers. A self-leveling caulk is used for roof applications and non-sag for vertical caulking applications. Roofing material manufactures also have their own products as well.
