I just monitor the transmission temperature with the gauge that is part of the factory vehicle information suite. Doesn't your TV have something similar?

No. I have 2009 tacoma tow package v6 double cab. I'll have to get scan gague

Wise move. I’m of the mind that you can’t have too much information, especially with towing a trailer. I use my ScanGauge to monitor EOT, TFT, ECT and turbo boost. We’ve been all over the West and knowing how my coolant and other fluid temps are topping out is important, at least to me.
