Back in the day, our older trailer had an electricity, 12 volt and propane setting -- hence being what I called a "Three Way Fridge". However, the the fridge in our Jayflight has only two settings. Gas and Auto.

I get what gas means and I get that when plugged into power, it is using electricity to run on the auto setting as it did on our maiden voyage this past weekend. But what about the battery power? For example, if its on auto and it is neither plugged into power or the propane isn't on, would it use the battery power to run?

No the auto setting is when its pluged it to electricity it runs on ac and when you disconnect the cord it auto switches to gas it only uses the 12 volt battery to ignite the fridge while on gas

If you only have a 2-way fridge, then the fridge will not run on battery, it either needs 110 or propane.

Note that when on propane the fridge does require 12-volt to run the electronics.
