using the 3rd Unused gray tank

My Jayco Eagle 330 RSTS came with the washer/dryer "option". Among other items, the option consisted of a third 32 gal. gray water storage tank with it's own level monitoring system, etc. But, normally, if you don't install the washer, the extra gray tank goes unused.

On one camping trip we had filled both grey tanks unusually early, likely because of the two grandkids we had in tow that weekend. I was getting ready to pick up stakes to drag the camper to the dump site. A real pain, but what could I do? The kids did not want to go home a day early!!

I then remember I had installed a gate valve on the output coupler (where the sewer hose normally connects when draining the tanks). I had done this on every camper I had previously because the pull cable connected valves eventually don't close fully for one reason or another and I would have a leak problem without this extra valve. It was then I realized that if I kept this gate valve closed and opened up all the grey tank pulls, I would then effectively have all three gray tanks tied together. They would all then fill together to the same level, and now I have an extra 32 gallons of grey water storage!!! ...96 gallons total! We managed to get through to the next day with the extra 32 gallons!

I bet a lot of people are driving around with and extra gray tank never to be used!!

I only have two tanks. I do this with the bathroom and kitchen one. Works great, the bathroom always fills up faster really helps on the longer stays.

I am aware this is an old post but my 2018 Eagle 322RLOK has three valves labeled for gray water but only two indicators. How can I determine if I have the third tank?

If you have 3 handles you have 3 tanks. There should be a switch that lets you toggle between 2 of the thanks for the gauge. That's how our PINNACLE was set up.

Your third tank would be for the washer prep.

My idea is to put a secondary discharge valve on end of drain and then open the gray water tanks to let them fill equally. We almost always drycamp/boondock so holding tank capacity is a premium.

Here is my control panel

Ok thanks. I looked around and didn’t see a secondary control center or even just one lone indicator but I will look again.

So it turns out that I have a third level indicator that is mounted close to the washer hookup down low on a dresser.
