I just finished Camp Hosting at Occoneechee State Park in Virginia. It's a beautiful park with both tent and camper sites. If you have a horse and would like to have a place to take it and also camp, they have great facilities. If you love to fish, this park is next to Kerr lake. The park is located one mile from Clarksville, VA, a small lakeside town with lots to offer.

If you like to enjoy the lake, the park has seven boat ramps. The lake is approximately 48,000 acres and contains some large fish. The following will provide proof of that.

I recommend that park if you want to have a good time.

Who in the world has fresh water tackle to land that monster. I crappie fish with light weight stuff and 4lb test. We struggle to land a 3-4 lb catfish. We did land a 17 pound catfish one night.

Occoneechee is a very nice park, but the Federal parks such as Rudds, Northbend, and Longwood are just as nice and do not charge extra for your pets.
