We are looking for help, recommendations in regards to our 2023 40ft Dbl Bungalow. These issues were first reported to JAYCo July 31, 2024 and we have been following up regularly. Emails were sent again to JAYCo in October, November, again in December and every month since. Trailer was still in factory warranty and we also bought extended warranty.

I am requesting follow-up on several issues that we have forwarded with our Jayco Travel Trailer since summer/fall 2024. We have e-mailed with Ashely D at Jayco and Alsion at Stratford RV.

Jayco has stated that they need more information from our Authorized Dealer, which is Stratford RV. Stratford RV has sent documentation/pictures. Steve at Stratford RV recommended it go back to Jayco as it's more then the shop could complete. Stratford RV has said that we need to deal directly with Jayco, because there is only so much they can do after a claim has been denied.

When this all started, the trailer was still under factory warranty, as well we have extended warranty. So far no one will take responsibility for completing repairs.

We have sent several photos and videos, Stratford RV has also sent photos, which I would assume you have on file. Please clarify the following:

1. Uneven floor, nail pops, "spoongie" floor in main area. Jayco has stated this is normal, however the floor in the dining area/couch area tip out has already been replaced as the plywood used was substandard. This is likely the case for the entire trailer. Please explain.

2. There has been no mention of the rear windows seals falling out/hanging, and us not being able to open the window properly. How does this get repaired?

3. The crack in the fiberglass between the front of the trailer and the bedroom door. Why did this happen? In a short e-mail received from Stratford RV, it said something about a wood splinter and someone contacting Fibernew or Creative Colours to cut/secure/remove. What does this mean and who should be making the contact? Is this to fix the crack? Or was this to do with floor? It does not explain.

4. Bedroom Closet door - I don't recall it not opening ever being replied too.

5. Patio Door - There has been no mention of the patio door issue. It doesn't close properly. In placing a level across the top of the door frame, it's clearly curved and not level.

6. Awning - The rear arm of the awning not opening anymore. A clear space has developed between the trailer and the arm showing that it is catching. It looks like the entire wall of the trailer is curved.

7. Wall in hallway to bedroom - Appears to have damage from sagging or water? Wall seam strips all bubbling and not together at the ceiling.

8. Seals in bathroom sink gone.

Please respond as soon as possible, regarding each issue, as we have received no straight answers regarding the issues. This has gone on way too long being directed back and forth between dealer and Jayco. Someone needs to take ownership of the issues.

Any recommendations would be appreciated as we are beyond frustrated and truly regret giving our business to JAYCo.

First JOF has no connection with Jayco, it is an independent Forum run by RV Life, so you will not get a response here.

Claims are normally denied based on the info submitted by the dealer. Also this statement would need Stratford RV to make the arrangements with Jayco. Based on everything you've said it sounds like they are your problem.

Steve at Stratford RV recommended it go back to Jayco as it's more then the shop could complete.

You mention substandard plywood. They use the same material in all their units.

If you have water damage in the ceiling have you inspected and resealed the roof or had it done every 6 months as noted in the owners manual?

The awning would be warranted by the manufacturer as are all the components, again spelled out in the warranty and the dealer knows that.

Hope you get things worked out.

I think you should consider contacting your local Provincial Consumer Affairs office and see if they can offer any assistance.

Coincidentally we just brought our coach in for warranty work this morning which is conservatively our 25th warranty session trying to get damaged/defective items repaired in our ‘23 32RLTS Pinnacle. We bought this coach new 11 months ago from a Jayco Dealer in West Virginia. My list is longer than yours so I won’t take anyone’s time to list the issues but supporting Grumpy’s post the Dealer is the catalyst to getting warranty issues taken care of with Jayco. I tried to bypass the first two Dealers that screwed things up more than they helped and Jayco told me directly to go through one of their Deslers. By fluke while snowbirding in Arizona we found a Dealer that has totally advocated for our issues and we are getting things done. Does anyone know if there is a “lemon-law” pertaining to RV’s? In the many conversations I’ve had with owners of many different Brands and configurations the RV Industry is abusing the RV consumer by putting out crappy products and then being adversarial in getting warranty resolution.
Wish you the best!

It's varies State to State..

The OPs profile shows Canada. I doubt they would be able to get any type of legal remedy from Jayco in Indiana. I think in this situation it’s going to be up to the dealer who sold the defective RV to make things right.
