Wastemaster Drainmaster install

Hey everyone,

I worked with Wastemaster and came up with an install for the drainmaster enclosure on my Jayco Melbourne 24L. This was a cool project and I wanted to share in case anyone is interested in installing one of these.

I’m not getting any referral commission, but please tell them that Eric Maxwell sent you to them. They are great people and I just want to help.

Items needed
Drainmaster enclosure and hose
3' all thread rod 5/16(don’t get any shorter or you won’t have the excess to reach the end of the enclosure in step 16)
1-box of 5/16 nuts about 30-40
1-bag of 5/16 lock washers, about 12
2-bags of 5/16 about 20
Red loctite
Abs glue
2- 22.5 degree abs fittings
1-90 degree abs fitting
Advil
Bandaids

Step 1- make a cardboard template aligning the four holes on the mounting bracket
Step 2- clamp to frame and drill guide holes
Step 3- use a step bit to enlarge the holes, a little larger than 5/16
Step 4- cut four pieces of all thread to 3"
Step 5- apply loctite to the 3" pieces, install up though the two holes towards the front of the rv. Attach a flat washer and nut on top of those two on top of the beam. Under the beam, one flat washer against beam, one lock washer, two nuts.
Step 6- mark and drill plate to enclosure holes, making sure the enclosure has enough room to the front to open.
Step 7- install four long bolts with one flat washer in the four holes on the bracket that support the enclosure
Step 8- install a nut on each of the all threads about an inch from the bottom
Step 9- use step bit to increase diameter of the four frame mounting holes, install the bracket, make sure to install a flat washer between the nut and the plate
Step 10- use a little loctite on the all thread and attach a flat washer, lock washer and nut. Adjust the top and bottom nuts to desired level of the enclosure.
Step 11- cut excess all thread and install second nut to clean up the install
Step 12- install the enclosure to the bracket. Use one flat washer against the enclosure, one lock washer and one nut. Tighten nut, measure from the bottom of the nut for enough room for another nut, cut all thread and use the acorn nut to finish it off.
Step 13- fabricate a bracket for the rear of the enclosure. I used some scrap 2” aluminum, slotted steel could work as well
Step 14- mark the hole location in the rear of the enclosure. DO NOT USE A SCREW FOR THIS! THE SHARP END COULD PUNCTURE YOUR HOSE.
Step 15- drill hole large enough for 5/16 all thread rod
Step 16- using the leftover all thread rod, attach two nuts, tightening them and make sure no excess threading is present at the end of the nuts
Step 17- pass the rod through the end of the enclosure from the inside, the flat washer should be against the inside of the end of the enclosure
Step 18- attach the bracket to the all thread, one flat washer against the bracket, one lock washer, one nut. Apply loctite, use vise grips to hold the rod, tighten the nut. Measure for one nut width and cut the all thread. Install second nut and tighten.
Step 19- screw bracket to the subfloor using the self tapping screws that came with the enclosure kit
Step 20- cut 3” abs pipe about 4” from the rear support strap, cut the bayonet end off the pipe
Step 21- start configuring the abs pipe using the 22.5 and 90 degree angle fittings. Make sure to mark all fitting angles and depths using duct tape.
Step 22- glue fittings. A little trick, remove the duct tape as you glue and set, this will insure you don’t miss one.
Step 23- follow the rest of the install steps provided with the enclosure.

I hope this helps someone out. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
