LED stove light fluctuates when using water pump. After only a few uses the LED burned out. Is this a wiring problem ? Why does the water pump affect the LED? How can this be overcome? Any thoughts out there? 🤔 I think I have seen something about this on the forums but cannot find it.

After thinking about this issue overnight it seems that the wiring to the range hood light and fan are most likely downstream from the water pump as that might be the closest source of 12V. The overhead lights probably run on a different circuit and that would be why they are unaffected by water pump operation. Perhaps rerouting power away from the water pump line will solve the issue. Now - how do I do this?

I'm guessing the LED's failed due to low power supply. The design is likely okay so I would check all the circuits connections first. One way or the other, you will have to trace the wires.

Jayco CS will provde you with a wiring schematic (have your VIN ready) that will give you a general idea of where the wires are.

When the pump cycles at low volume the two led’s on the same circuit fluctuate. That would effect the line voltage. Your thought on low power supply, i.e. the fluctuation of voltage, makes sense. Thanks for your suggestions!

Jayco workers seem to enjoy making poor connections and connections subject to corrosion.
I would look into all the connections you can get at and make sure they are clean and tight. In my case I found the grounding bar behind the converter was never tightened at the factory and flickering lights were caused by a bad ground. Gone after I tightened them down. Now part of my spring checkup is to make sure the ground wire to the frame is still clean and tight.
