Weber Q w factory quick connect?

Hey guys-
I have a Weber Q 200 and am wanting to use it w the oem connection under the camper. I read that the ca,per connection is already low pressure so the regulator on the Weber won't allow it to work?

Has anyone got a fix for this?

There is a sticky note in the campfire cooking section on how to do this. If you are handy, it's a simple mod. You will have to remove the regulator from the weber.

My Bungalow has the bracket to attach the RV Q to it but.............the RV sales man said why would you want to attach a box of fire to your RV?? Makes sense to me. They are handy for sure but potentially dangerous.

I took the regulator off my weber and replaced it with the male quick connect that was on the side kick grill that came with the motorhome. I also bought a 10' quick disconnect hose to bring the grill away from the motorhome.

No. Per the dealer, that line is regulated on the camper. You don't need it regulates twice.

The answer is no. You do not want to use the grill without a regulator. I'm sure you could make a connection with a regulator that would go from the QC to the 20lb tank.

Pressure directly from a propane tank is 100-200 psi.
Pressure to a grill via a low pressure regulator is 6 ounces (10.5 inches water column)
Even pressure via a high pressure regulator can be between 1 and 60 psi.

So emphatically NO. You do not want to hook up your gas grill to an unregulated tank.
Even Tim the Toolman wouldn't do that.

But if you want to use your Weber both ways, just do what I did for my Coleman LXE. I have a regulator that I can screw on when using it with bottled propane, and then another attachment without the regulator when running off the low pressure TT quick connect.

At the risk of showing how little I know about propane connections, if I removed the regulator from the grill and ran the quick connect straight from the camper to the grill, how would I adjust the flame?

jlawley, I assume your regulator and adjustment knop are one on your grill. Then you're out of luck because you can't turn the grill on unless you use the valve before the disconnect. What create an un-safe situation.

Thanks ALJO. I guess my question should be, is there an easy way to run a hose from a low pressure outlet on my camper to a table top grill designed to use the one pound propane bottles? And yes, the flame controls and the regulator are one unit. Thanks for your help.

Unless they changed it, the regulator and control are two units. My regulator unscrewed from the control knob. I then attached a male quick connect and was ready to plug into the trailers system. Very easy mod.

My partner and i comprehend the particular gas collection about the MH is governed, yet the question seemed to be using the improved Weber bbq having Simply a portable gas reservoir, not really linked with the particular MH.

Use the set above with some adapters from HD/Lowes and you can attach your Weber to the quick connect on the camper, or still use propane bottles. I did this mod and it works great on my Weber Q

The regulator is attached upstream from the gas control knob. You can remove the regulator at the fitting and replace it with a male quick-disconnect. Then, a standard appliance hose will allow you to connect to the trailer. You can get them through Amazon (male fitting on one end, female on the other)

Afterward, you can attach a female quick disconnect to the regulator and then use the Q grill on a propane bottle, as before, I would think. Just have to remove the bracket so everything will fit up.

I cannot speak for what everyone else is doing but we connect both our Q grill and our Weber 200 with a quick connect hose to our trailer propane quick connect that came installed on our unit. The grills use the propane from the same tanks as our stove and fridge. Both grills work fine. I did not tamper with the regulator on either unit.

On my Weber Q2000. I unscrewed the regulator from the gas adjustment knob, and screwed in a quick connect/disconnect on the gas adjustment know (to connect to the trailer) and one to the regulator so I could use small tanks of propane if need be.
