Wetcell or Lithium?

It's time for me to replace my wetcell batteries (2). Any suggestions regarding going with Wetcell or Lithium and what is the best Inverter. We generally make 2 or 3 day trips.

Lithium. Many advantages. Negatives, they don't do low temps well without a heater or being placed in a above freezing area, and cost.
Best inverter, I'd say a Sensata Pure Sine Low frequency.
Pricey, heavy, but built like a tank, will start and run anything within it's ratings.

Hard to day without knowing your camping style. Do you currently have a single or dual batteries? How have they held up in the past?

If single or dual and been decent. Might want to try dual 6v golf cart batteries. Lot cheaper than lithium.

If your current batteries have not preformed well enough than lithium might be a good choice. Just note, pending on your converter you might need to replace it.

We mostly do 2 or 3 day outings and our power requirements are low. It would be nice to have an inverter to watch a movie at times but that's about it. Our trips are usually a mix of dry camping and rv park hook ups.

Are you taking two/three day trips with hookups? You don't say. If so lithium is waste of money. You you dry camp for those days maybe but three days is a drop in the bucket for standard batteries and with two 6 volt you are good for a week to 20 days and much less cost.

Another important item is your refrigerator. Is it a 2 way, or is it a modern 12v frig? A 12v uses a lot of power and can drain a LA battery fairly quickly.

Depends on your camping style. If you plugin every night stay with lead-acid. My 34G came with two 6 volt AGM batteries that would barely get us through a night of boondocking. I replaced them with lithium batteries and now easily run a fan, all the lights I want, watch TV, cool the refrigerator and easily get through an evening of boo docking.

Thanks for all your valued input. I decided to remove the wet cell batteries from our golf cart and put one Lithium battery in the golf cart since it gets much more use that the 5th wheel. I move two of the 12v Trojan T-1275 deep cycle batteries to the trailer. Added a solar panel and am ready to try it out. Thanks again for your input. This forum has the best support!

Not that I have seen a lot of electric golf carts, but if you have an electric golf cart, chances are good that it is 36~48v which means you can't replace the batteries with a single LifePo4 battery. ~CA

I did replace 4 12v Trojan batteries with 1 48v Lithium and it is great in the golf cart.
