What broke/failed on your Jayco today

It's not even cold out in the grand scheme of things but the door latch's deadbolt got to where we were afraid we were going to break keys off trying to turn it. Pulling it off and taking it apart, the lubricant seems to have gummed-up and is now doing the exact opposite of what a lubricant is supposed to do.

I haven't fixed-fixed it yet, I got as much of the lubricant off with paper towels as I can, and when I have time I'll look into what's acceptable as a mechanism lube on this pot-metal part. When I was a kid I used graphite for Pinewood Derby but those never got run out in the rain. Will also need to see what's a good degreaser to use to remove the existing stuff completely.

This works pretty good in the automotive industry for cleaning parts.

Any form of lithium grease works well for me for lubricating small parts. And unlike wd-40 it stays put for some time.

2017 JayFlight RLWS26 - Plumbing Issues - Help Please

Hello Everyone,

I am new here and need some help. We use our trailer in the winter and something happened where I had to switch getting our water from our city connection to using the hose attached to the pump and huge water bottles. This is working great until things warm up and my city water starts working again. The problem I am having right now is that I was able to prime the cold water but I can't seem to prime the hot water. Are there any tricks to getting the hot water line to start working again?

Any help is appreciated! A&A

What broke? Jayco 16RK
Year 1-2: Refrigerator. Cabinet bottom. Back axle failure (glad we had 2 axles). Underseat lighting
Year 3-4 (in progress): Front axle failure (glad there are 2 axles again!) Relay Board - bad relay on awning retraction.
Anyone have to get a new Relay (aka 'brains') board? I have Premier extended warranty but I'm wondering what that board costs so I can monitor the charges from repairman. Thank you.

2021 Feather 27RL purchased in 2020. It has about 50K miles on it. The only thing I have had an issue with is the door(2) latches/knobs. They must of been bad, hard to close and would open on the road. Changed them out with the exact same and zero issues. Other than that and that the tanks sensors have been junk since day 1, no issues. Oh the shark antenna is junk. We dont even use it.

I had similar issues with my White Hawk trailer. The door latches wouldn’t lock because the strike plates in the door frame weren’t lined up with the latches. I moved the strike plates and all was well.

The shark fin antenna is junk and Jayco managed to cut the cable when they installed mine, making the antenna even more worthless. I installed a King Jack antenna and it works great.

I forgot to mention, I just heard the heating rod sizzling... that means my tank is dry.

Probably a bit late now, but you would have gotten better visibility if you had started your own thread for this I think.

It sounds like you are using the winterize hose into the water jug? Not sure what model an RLWS 26 is, I do get a 26 RLS from the Jayco site, answer depends a bit on how your rig is setup. Are you getting any water (cold) out of the hot side, or just no hot water?

If you have a water management center it is possible that the winterize setting is bypassing the HWT so that you don't put anti-freeze in there.

If you have a more traditional (lower end?) system with manual valves, is it possible that you turned the water heater bypass valve on while you were turning the winterize valve on? This would block freshwater from getting into the tank.

Another thing to check is if your water feed to the HWT is frozen. It is winter, and it sounds like your external supply line is frozen, so it is possible that the line to tank has frozen as well. Try opening any cabinets or dead spaces where that line runs through to get some heat in there and see if it clears up.

There really is nothing to prime the hot side, if you have pressure at the pump it should fill unless there is a blockage on the line.
