What Did You Do To Your RV TODAY?

Freshened up the caulk around the rear and side window trims with clear Proflex RV. The weather forecast for an upcoming trip is coming into focus. Yep, rain :grey:

Not today but yesterday was a good time to finally get the cover off. It survived the winter hibernation well except one corner vinyl screw trim has turned brownish. Dumped the DriZAir and are getting ready to de-winterize the plumbing and put the battery on it. A roll of new trim will be here Friday.

I repack my bearing and boy they were very bad, to the point that I had to replaces both side of the axles, the drums and the pads kits.

Unrolling the awning at our campsite, I heard a clink and found a small half-inch screw on the ground. It fell out of the plastic housing with the speaker in it that encloses the motor. Looking at it, I saw another was missing also. Luckily there’s a great home supply store nearby and I found replacements, plus a few extra. If you haven’t checked these on your awning, it might be worthwhile. Others were loose.

Re-positioned the middle kitchen drawer magnet so it stays closed in transit. The two mounting srews were off front-to-back, side-to-side, and on an angle. (Somebody lost their focus, but likely got an earlt quit.)

Spent some time on the roof diagnosing an AC unit not blowing cold air. Tested the compressor several times; more times than not, it came up "bad". Return line was not getting cold. So I cleaned the coils just to see (outside coils were not all that dirty, inside coils were moreso), and no glory. I couldn't find any evidence of a refrigerant leak, so I'm thinking bad compressor... I just so happened to have a Supco capacitor boost, so I threw that on just for giggles, and still, no glory...

The good news was that what I thought was a brake fluid leak turned out not to be. So now I'm thinking I bled a little hydraulic fluid from the jacks? So I went ahead and had DW pressure up the system while I observed, and not a drop anywhere. Left it under pressure all weekend, and still nothing... So it's a complete mystery where that fluid came from? Oh well, not gonna worry about it...

Picked up all the stuff I'll need for oil changes on engine and generator, so I'll get those done while I sort out a new AC unit I guess...

Last night was productive! Changed engine oil, changed generator oil, replaced windshield wiper blades, and loaded my 5-Star Tune. I also plotted out some possibilities for installation of my shunt battery monitor. Installation of the actual shunt is easy peasy, but the battery tray is directly under a large slide, so I have to figure out how to route the wire for the monitor panel... Today I got my new AC unit ordered and scheduled installation, and since I have disposed of the OEM plenum divider plate, I went ahead and ordered a KoolRV AC diverter. Installing the roof-top replacement unit is something I'm perfectly capable of doing on my own, and have done before, but I simply don't have the time. Got an "analog" (tent camping) trip with my son end of this week, so I'll have DW all set up to take the Greyhawk in for installation of the new AC unit...

If I can continue to get some of this stuff checked off the list, I MIGHT be ready to go when the time comes!! And it's coming up FAST!!

“Analog trip”… Love it! :HaHaHa:

Replaced the thermostat, ECO and thermal cutoff on my Atwood water heater. On the last trip, it seemed to take longer than usual to get to temp and shut off, which typically has been about 20 minutes. I figured it can’t hurt to replace the thermostats after 8 years. It’s an easy job. The old ones, and the tank where they make contact, were pristine. But I used some thermal paste between them and cleaned the crimp contacts, reconnected and fired it up. It shut off at 30 minutes and the water was just about 140* . For a tank full of ice cold water, that seems right. On to the next project!

Changed engine oil, generator oil, and greased 8 of the 9 points on the Alante. Why not the 9th you ask? Because I couldn’t remember that the steering box was the last one.
