What did you do to your Tow Vehicle today?

I just bought a set of Bilstein 4600's for the rear of my F150. Install coming soon. I figure with the Timbrens, these should take care of any tow/haul needs my truck might need.

I had a 2015 F-150 SCrew with same powertrain. I replaced rear shocks at 10k miles and were not leaking so Ford refused replacement. After removing factory shocks, both had zero compression resistance and very little extension resistance. Should have drizzled some light oil on them to indicate leakage. Put on a set of Gabriels from a 2014 F-150, as no one except Ford had replacements that were "specific" to the 2015. According to specs the 2014-2015 changeover was nothing more than internal spec changes for weight. I had SuperSprings and it made A BUNCH of difference in ride quality. Truck no longer bounced off the Sumo cushions. Currently have factory Hitachis and SuperSprings on the Titan at 67k miles and great ride, loaded or unloaded.

Well, about an 2 hours ago I had the Bilstein’s installed and 1 hour ago I had the Bilstein’s re-installed. 🫤 Yup, they installed them upside down, which is a common mistake, as the Bilstein’s boot orientation is opposite typical shocks. AND exactly why I brought one into the office with me, when dropping the truck, to SHOW them how the label needs to be right side up, despite the boot appearing upside down. I even prefaced my information with; “I’m not trying to explain your job to you to as I’m no expert. I’m just giving a ‘heads up’ on frequent error when installing this particular shock and SHOWED THEM the label.

One hour later the truck is done. I walk put to check and the shocks are upside down. 🫥 I go back inside and tell them, they’ve been installed wrong. They act all surprised and start talking to each other how ‘the boot is always on top.’ It’s when I reminded them why I communicated what I did, upon arrival.

I showed them the directions packet. They quickly rolled the truck back in and reoriented the shocks, putting 2 guys on the job to get it done faster

I guess a 50-something woman telling them how to put on shocks wasn’t worth the listen? Hey, I tried to tell them.

I always try to take my vehicles to people who can read and write. Difficult to find many with those qualifications now days.
This has been my go-to garage for years. They are competent, but when something different comes along, they treat it like the same-old, same-old. I warned them: the boot will be what they'd consider upside down, when the shocks are installed right side up/correctly.

Now I can be an expert when Bilstein time comes around! Just like me always telling them to adjust the tire pressure when rotating and then checking them with my gauge and having to tell them so many times.

REALLY!? They should know when they see you coming...do it right the first time. That should be the case for all, but that's asking a lot. I have come to realize, many people do not have any pride in their work, anymore.

Same here. I run about 70 psi on my rear truck tires and about 50 on fronts when not towing. The last two times I had America’s Tire rotate them they were mismatched. And that was after specifically reminding them before they did the work.

I guess I'll be getting a new driver's mirror! Thank goodness for the dash cam!

Man that sucks, but better than having to deal with possible damage that could have occurred from a hit and run on your fender and possibly bumper too with that swerve and go driver. I see the original video does not show now. Is there a reason that pictures and videos have not been showing up for me lately?

Did you pay the toll?
