What is this valve?

Was looking for small water leak under the jackknife sofa in the vicinity of the freshwater tank and pump. Found this unmarked valve. There is a LOW POINT valve near the other end of the tank.

1. What is this valve?
2. What is it's purpose?
3. When should it be open?
4. When should it be closed?

Looks like another low point drain. What happens when you pull up on it?

I am hooked up to city water. Valve open
Nothing happening. I will be off line for a while may be tomorrow before can put water in tank.

Does that line run back towards the pump? Could be a LPD for the suction side.

2. What is it's purpose? To drain the freshwater tank.
3. When should it be open? When the freshwater tank needs to be completely drained.
4. When should it be closed? At all other times.

If it says “low drain” it is the valve you would open to completely drain your tanks. Other than that keep it closed.
